The Sonos ERA 300 speaker packs a punchy sound with its six drivers & powerful amplifiers. Because of its immersive sound performance, it relies on being able to direct the sound up and out wide so it's best that you allow room around the speaker to enjoy the wide sound stage.
Ensure that you have around two feet of space above the speaker for this reason.

The Sonos Era 300 is unlike any other speaker in the Sonos range — and honestly unlike most speakers at any price. Where conventional speakers project sound forwards, the Era 300 is engineered to fill the entire room, with six drivers positioned across the front, sides and top working together to create a genuinely three-dimensional listening experience.
The headline feature is true Dolby Atmos support, delivered via an upward-firing tweeter that bounces sound off the ceiling to create real height channels. This isn't the simulated spatial audio you get from some soundbars — it's a proper overhead effect that, on the right content, is quite remarkable. Dolby Atmos Music on Apple Music and Amazon Music HD sounds genuinely different through the Era 300, particularly on tracks mixed specifically for spatial audio.
We've had the Era 300 on demo in our Fleet showroom and it consistently stops people in their tracks. The sweet spot is impressively wide — wherever you sit in the room the soundstage feels spacious and immersive. For music listening in particular, it's one of the most engaging speakers we carry at any price point.
It's also highly versatile within the Sonos ecosystem. Use it as a standalone room speaker, pair two together for a wide stereo setup, or add a pair to an Arc Ultra or Beam Gen 2 soundbar to create a genuine Dolby Atmos surround sound system. In that configuration the upward-firing drivers in both the soundbar and the Era 300s combine to deliver true 3D audio that rivals a traditional home cinema setup at a fraction of the complexity.
Setup is effortless — plug in, open the Sonos app, and Trueplay tunes the speaker automatically to your room.
AUDIO
Amplifiers: Six class-D digital amplifiers precision-tuned for the speaker's unique acoustic architecture power your sound experience.
Tweeters: Four tweeters ensure faithful playback of high and mid-range frequencies. The forward-firing mid tweeter provides a smooth centre image while two side-firing mid tweeters create stereo separation. Loaded into a directional horn, the upward-firing tweeter reflects sound off the ceiling when playing Dolby Atmos content.
Woofers: Two woofers maximise low-end output and are angled left and right to support stereo playback.
Microphones: The far-field microphone array uses advanced beamforming and multichannel echo cancellation for quick and accurate voice control and Trueplay tuning. Disconnect by toggling off the mic switch.
Adjustable EQ: Use the Sonos app to adjust bass, treble, and loudness.
Trueplay: This software measures the acoustics of the room then fine-tunes the EQ. Compatible with iOS and Android devices. Learn more
