The Sonos Era 100 is one of those speakers that genuinely surprises people when they hear it for the first time. For its compact size, the sound is remarkable — the dual angled tweeters create a proper stereo image that makes it feel like you're listening to something much larger, and the bass is noticeably deeper than the Play:1 and One it replaces.
We've had the Era 100 on demo in our Fleet showroom since launch and it remains one of our most recommended products across the board. It suits almost any room and any listener — whether you're after a kitchen speaker for Radio 2 and podcasts, a bedroom speaker for late night listening, or a serious music speaker for a study or home office.
One of its most underrated qualities is its versatility. Out of the box it's a brilliant standalone speaker, but it scales beautifully — pair two together for a wide stereo setup, add a Sub Mini for deeper bass, or use them as rear surrounds with an Arc Ultra or Beam soundbar for a full home cinema experience. The addition of Bluetooth alongside Wi-Fi is also a welcome upgrade over older Sonos models, making it easy for guests to connect without needing access to your network.
Setup takes just a few minutes via the Sonos app, and Trueplay automatically tunes the sound to wherever you place it. If you're new to Sonos or looking to expand an existing system, the Era 100 is an excellent starting point.
