Samsung S90H vs S95H: which OLED TV is right for me?

S90H or S95H: the short answer
Samsung’s two 2026 OLED ranges look similar on paper — both have Glare Free screens, the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, 165Hz gaming and four HDMI 2.1 ports. The difference comes down to four things: picture brightness, TV panel thickness, screen connectivity and which sizes are available.
The S90H is a premium OLED with outstanding all-round performance, in the widest choice of sizes from 42" to 83". The S95H is Samsung’s flagship: a brighter QD-OLED panel (55", 65" and 77"), the best Glare Free screen Samsung makes, and an 11 mm-thin design with a separate One Connect Box. Both ranges come with Samsung’s 5-year warranty when you register within 90 days.
Both ranges are on demo in our Fleet showroom, so you can see the difference for yourself before you decide.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the S90H if…
- You want a premium OLED picture without paying flagship prices
- You need a 42" or 83" screen — the S95H isn’t made in those sizes
- Your room isn’t especially bright
- You’d rather plug everything straight into the TV, with no separate box
Choose the S95H if…
- You want the brightest OLED picture Samsung makes (55" and up)
- You want richer, more saturated colour — QD-OLED’s big advantage for films, sport and HDR (55" and up)
- Your room gets a lot of daylight
- You want the TV to sit almost flush on the wall, with one slim cable

Picture: QD-OLED vs OLED
Both ranges are true OLED: every pixel lights itself, so blacks are perfectly black and contrast is effectively infinite. Where they differ is brightness and colour.
The 55", 65" and 77" S95H use Samsung’s QD-OLED panel, which produces brighter highlights and richer, more saturated colour — you notice it most with HDR films, sport and in bright rooms. The S95H also has Samsung’s best Glare Free screen.
The S90H is still a superb OLED with a UL-validated Glare Free screen. In a typical living room, or one where you can draw the curtains for films, most people are delighted with it.
The 48" S95H is the exception
The 48" S95H doesn’t use QD-OLED — it has a different OLED panel, with the same perfect blacks but not as bright or as vivid as the 55", 65" and 77" S95H. It also has no One Connect Box: everything plugs into the TV itself, so it’s 39.6 mm deep rather than 11 mm.
That makes the 48" S95H and 48" S90H much closer than the bigger sizes. If you want the full S95H picture, the 55" is the smallest size that has it.

Design: One Connect Box or connections on the TV
The 55", 65" and 77" S95H put all the connections — HDMI, USB, aerial and satellite — on a separate One Connect Box. A single 2.5 m cable runs to the screen, so the TV is only about 11 mm deep and sits almost flush on the wall. The box can attach to the back of the stand or go in a cabinet nearby.
The S90H has its connections on the back of the TV, like most televisions. It’s still slim at 39.6–44.9 mm, and there’s no box to find a home for.
Either way, our installers can wall-mount the TV and route the cables neatly. See our TV installation service.
Gaming: a tie
Gamers lose nothing by choosing the S90H. Both ranges run at up to 165Hz from a PC, 4K@120Hz from PS5 and Xbox Series X on all four HDMI 2.1 ports, with VRR, ALLM, HGiG, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, plus Samsung’s Game Bar and Gaming Hub.
Sound: add a soundbar either way
Like any slim TV, neither range has room for sound that does the picture justice — the S95H has a few more speakers built in, but the difference is small. A soundbar makes the biggest difference: the Sonos Beam suits smaller sizes, and the Arc Ultra matches 65" and up. See which Sonos soundbar is right for me.
Which suits your room?
Bright, sunny room
S95H (55"+). The brighter QD-OLED panel and best Glare Free screen hold up best in daylight.
Evening viewing, controllable light
S90H. You get the OLED blacks and contrast for less, and the difference is much smaller in a dim room.
Wall-mounted, minimal look
S95H. At about 11 mm deep with one slim cable to the One Connect Box, it looks almost like a picture on the wall.
On an existing TV unit
Either. Both use a central stand, so check the depth of your unit. Each TV page has a top tip with the exact stand size.
Small room or bedroom
S90H in 42" or 48". At 48" the S95H is close, but it’s not QD-OLED.
Really big screen
S90H 83" is the largest. For 77", choose the S95H for the best picture, or the S90H if you’d rather keep the budget down.

S90H vs S95H questions
What is the difference between the Samsung S90H and S95H?
The S95H is Samsung’s flagship OLED. In 55", 65" and 77" it uses a brighter QD-OLED panel, has Samsung’s best Glare Free screen and an 11 mm-thin design with a separate One Connect Box. The S90H gives you a superb OLED picture, Glare Free and identical 165Hz gaming for less, in more sizes from 42" to 83". Both come with Samsung’s 5-year warranty when registered within 90 days.
Is the S95H worth the extra over the S90H?
If your room is bright, or you want the slimmest wall-mounted look, the S95H’s QD-OLED panel and One Connect design are worth having. In a room where you can control the light, the S90H gives you most of the picture quality for noticeably less. Come and compare them in our Fleet showroom.
Is the 48" S95H QD-OLED?

Which is better for gaming, S90H or S95H?
They are effectively the same for gaming: both run up to 165Hz, have four HDMI 2.1 ports for PS5 and Xbox Series X at 4K@120Hz, and support VRR, ALLM, HGiG, G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro.
