The Sonos Beam (Gen 2) is Sonos' best-selling compact smart soundbar. At just 651 mm wide it fits neatly under most TVs, and it connects with a single HDMI eARC cable to give you clearer dialogue, fuller sound and Dolby Atmos, all controlled with your existing TV remote.

Dolby Atmos and dialogue you can follow
Beam (Gen 2) plays Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS. Advanced processing creates virtual height channels, so effects seem to come from above and around you, from a soundbar small enough for a bedroom or snug.¹
Sonos tuned Beam with Oscar-winning sound engineers to keep voices clear. Turn on Speech Enhancement in the Sonos app when dialogue gets lost, Night Sound for late-night viewing, and Trueplay™ to tune it to your room.

Add deep, impactful bass
A Sonos Sub adds the low-end rumble a slim soundbar can't, so explosions, film scores and music have real weight.
Sub Mini is the natural partner for Beam in most living rooms. Choose Sub 4 for a larger room or the biggest bass.
Option 2
Add surround sound
Add a matching pair of speakers behind your seating for true surround sound, with effects moving around the room.
Fixed surrounds: Era 100 SL for simple, affordable surrounds, or Era 300 for Dolby Atmos effects from behind.
Portable surrounds: two Play or two Move 2 speakers act as rears for film night, then come off the TV system to use around the house or garden.

Sonos Beam Gen 2 review: our take
Is the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) worth buying? For most living rooms, yes. It's a big step up from TV speakers: dialogue is clearer, music sounds full and balanced, and it's simple to live with because it works with your TV remote and the Sonos app.
Its Dolby Atmos is virtual rather than from up-firing drivers, so if height effects matter most to you, Beam Ultra is worth hearing too. If budget or space is tight, Sonos Ray is a good alternative.

Choose Beam (Gen 2) for a compact, great-value soundbar with virtual Dolby Atmos. Choose Beam Ultra (SRP £699) for true 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos with up-firing drivers, 9 drivers instead of 5, AI Speech Enhancement and Bluetooth. Both are on demo in our Fleet showroom.
Sonos Beam Gen 2 or Sonos Ray: what's the difference?
Ray (SRP £199) is a stereo soundbar that connects to your TV by optical cable. Beam (Gen 2) connects by HDMI eARC, plays Dolby Atmos, has voice control and gives a bigger, fuller sound. Beam is the better choice for most living rooms; Ray suits smaller TVs and bedrooms.
Does Sonos Beam Gen 2 support Dolby Atmos?
Yes. Beam (Gen 2) plays Dolby Atmos using virtual height processing rather than up-firing drivers. You need a TV with HDMI eARC and Dolby Atmos content. For true height channels, see Beam Ultra or Arc Ultra.
Will Sonos Beam work with my TV?
Beam (Gen 2) connects to TVs with HDMI eARC or ARC. For older TVs without HDMI ARC, it comes with an optical adapter in the box. It works with your existing TV remote.
Can I add a Sub and surround speakers to Sonos Beam?
Yes. Add a Sub Mini or Sub 4 for deeper bass, and a matching pair of Era 100 SL, Era 300, Play or Move 2 speakers as wireless rear surrounds. Each just needs a power socket.
